ABSTRACT ON ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) which is named after Dr. Alois Alzheimer is the most common form of dementia usually occurs on people aging beyond 65 which cause the mental abilities of the patients to relapse. It has certain symptoms which includes memory loss, failure to make judgments and decisions, getting lost in familiar places, difficulty in remembering, learning new information, expressing oneself, performing tasks, hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia. Moreover, family history and Down syndrome due to depression can intensify the disease. However, there is still no specific medicine for medication but some things can help identify this syndrome such as the Computer-Assisted Tomography (CAT) scans, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan, and Single Photo Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT) scan, as well as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
