Bible and Science
The histories of the role played by bible on one’s life can be stretch back thousands of years ago. The doctrines, myths, and ways of worship of religions around the world are different from each other. However, the bible promulgates universal doctrines of ethical conduct toward others. The bible authors were exceptional people who attained a degree of self-knowledge that inclined them to repel evil and seek the highest ideals of good.
Similar to science, the bible teachings form the foundation of cultural identity and have decisively shaped world civilizations based on differing, but not exclusive, views of ultimate value, mercy and benevolence, morality and ethics, respect and mystical unity of divine self, obedience and perseverance, love for the Creator and one's fellowman, and submission to the will of God.
Science is the quest for knowledge and understanding - it probes the world, and searches for the "how's" of the natural order. It relies on observation, documentation, and continuous testing. It is simply mankind using their God-given minds to explore the world around them, and to search through the mysteries and wonders of creation.
The Bible, on the other hand, isn't concerned with scientific endeavours. It isn't going to give you a thorough account of the creation of the universe, nor will it tell you the chemical make-up of water, or how to create penicillin. The scriptures focus on the one true God who has made covenant with his people; they focus on the revelation of himself, and of his plans. They testify of God's work, his ways, and his victory.
